Obo-ri

Obo-ri

It had the Obobugok and was called Obo, a part of Dong-myeon, Yeongdeok precinct during Joseon Dynasty.
The first record of Obo-ri appears in 'Gyeongsang-do Sokchan Jiriji' published in 1469 which indicated it as Obopyo.
According to Population Census published in 1789, Obo-ri consisted of Oboyuk-ri and Hae-ri.
It was renamed to Obo-dong under the Administrative District Integration of 1914, and incorporated into Obo-myeon.
It was re-incorporated into Yeongdeok-myeon on April 1, 1934.
Currently, it belongs to Yeongdeok-eup.
